The Turner Prize 2012
Puppetry features in this year’s Turner Prize at Tate Britain. Spartacus Chetwynd has been nominated for her solo exhibition at Sadie Coles HQ, London. Chetwynd makes paintings, carnivalesque performances and sculptural installations using handmade costumes, puppets and sets.
Her space in the gallery is a riot of odd looking puppets, outfits and tent like structures. Time your visit well to ensure you see some action, otherwise you’ll have to make do with watching films of it on small screens, as well as a sense that you missed a party. Performances run from 12pm until 5pm daily.
